Are you all excited for Christmas this weekend? It’s the first time that my husband and I will be celebrating without any family around so we’re taking all the traditions that we love and making them our own.
We’ll have the roast dinner (duck) and brussels sprouts (seem to be compulsory with Christmas dinner here in the UK!) and my favourite, roast potatoes cooked with no consideration for health (hello butter). Christmas crackers are a must!
Then we’ll spend the afternoon with paper crowns on our heads, watching some movies and reading the new books we’ve got. I think there will be an Elderflower cocktail or two in there somewhere too.
I’ve been so excited to see that I’ve had new visitors dropping by daily. The shop is closed for the holidays but when I return it’ll be time to launch the personalisation options and I CAN’T WAIT TO GET STARTED!
I hope you have a lovely time over the next few weeks. Do you spend Christmas with family? What are your family traditions?

Be Still Homewares, founded in 2009, is the creation of Australian industrial and graphic designer Sarah Robinson.
I came across Be Still Homewares about six months ago and fell in love with the fresh, clean designs but it wasn’t till today that I revisited the shop again and just had to share it with you. My white lounge sure could use some of these gorgeous cushions.
Check out this gallery of images for more inspiration and follow Sarah on Twitter here.

When we moved to London I was expecting to rent a furnished place. When we found our perfect apartment it was unfurnished so one of our first purchases was a lounge.
I wanted something comfy but not expensive. I went digging through my inspiration folder (how exciting is a blank canvas?!) and saw that most of the lounge room images I’d saved featured a white couch. When we saw that the cheapest couch we wanted in Ikea was white I drew on these images for inspiration.
I hate not being able to credit them (if you know who they belong to let me know!) but I’m pretty sure the bottom right image is from Bodie and Fou.
I like our little Ektorp and I figure, with no kids yet, this is the perfect time to have a white couch! What colour couch have you got?
