Some of my husband’s family live in Belgium so a few weeks ago we thought we’d hire a car and drive from London via the channel tunnel.
I get nervous in elevators so the idea of sitting in a car on a train going under the English Channel wasn’t something I was looking forward to!! I buried myself in a magazine and couldn’t believe it when we came out the other side in less than 30 minutes! We were in France in 30 minutes! I still can’t believe it.
We drove through the Ardennes region and it was absolutely stunning. The forest was exactly like the print on that cushion. On the way we stopped at a tiny brewery and a little chocolatier. The girls working there seemed so happy – I could see why!! I can’t wait to go back.

I think I would have similar thoughts about going through the tunnel, I find it hard enough going through them thinking “OMG there’s a mountain on top of me!” let alone an ocean. Good to know it can be done in as little as 30 minutes – and I think I’d probably do the same, either reading or doing something on the iPad for the duration.
[...] Today we’re not going to the South of France or the Belgian Ardennes. [...]
